Technology Training Day
Today was all about technology training. My wife, Darla, is the Director of Technology for our school district. Some might think that I would get out of training sessions, but those folks would be crazy...she is tough on The Kid! It's not a problem though as I love her and she is REALLY, REALLY good at what she does. I'm amazed at the scope and depth of what she knows and is able to teach to such a wide variety of learners.
Our school is on a track to become a 1-to-1 school (getting iPads in the hands of all staff and students), that utilizes "flipped" classrooms, so there is a lot of training going on. Darla wrote a new district technology plan this spring as well, and I'm going to use parts of what she has in her plan for my internship plan. I'm going to see if I can implement technology into my inquiry of attendance/grades/test scores as it pertains to extracurriculars...just not sure other than data storage, etc.
Well, two-a-days are a week away, and I'm hoping that everything keeps popping along in class. Hope everybody has a great Monday evening.

Well now I know where you are getting all of your technology skills from...and who I'll be hounding the next time I need help. My technology skills are quite low but I've conquered the anxiety over it now I just need a stronger skill set. Kudo's to you and your wife. I'm sure you are a great team.
ReplyDeleteMickie,
ReplyDeleteYou're right that my wife is good at what she does, but what I do is all me. She is busy and doesn't contribute to the building of my stuff. I get accused of that often because most folks don't believe a coach (really any man) can be creative. If she was doing this it would be a coat-of-many colors and full of pretty designs. I hope you get your stuff going as you'd like it.
